The trial, your key and the tiers
Ten days with every feature, then read-only until you add a key. How to activate the key from your purchase e-mail, what Beginner and Pro include, and what counts as one account.
The trial
The first time yourfinance opens, it starts a 10-day free trial with every feature on. There is no account to make and no card to enter. When the trial ends, the app turns read-only until you add a key: every record stays, nothing is deleted, and exports and backups keep working.
Buying a key
Keys are sold once, with no subscription, on the pricing page. The key arrives by e-mail as text that starts with YF-, with an activation link. Keep that e-mail: it is the only copy of the key.
Activating it
- Open Settings & recovery, paste the key into Licence key, and press Activate key. The badge at the top then shows your tier.
- Or click the link in the e-mail on the computer where yourfinance is installed. If a different key is already active, the app asks before it replaces it.
The key is checked on your computer against the app’s public key. Nothing is sent anywhere, and there is no activation count: on another computer, paste the same key. Under Licence, the key source then reads Stored on this computer.
Beginner and Pro
- Beginner has every analysis tool (rolls, scenarios, the operating policy, the journal, research, imports and exports) and unlimited positions, in one named account.
- Pro adds unlimited accounts, and connectors to brokers and exchanges.
Records you enter without naming an account do not count toward Beginner’s one account, and neither does the sample. A record that would bring in a second named account is refused before anything is written, and the app offers Pro.
Changing computers
Export a backup on the old computer, restore it on the new one from Settings & recovery, and paste the same key.
